Westwood Hills is what it is because residents choose to be involved. The association is entirely volunteer-run. There's no staff, no budget for contractors. When something gets done, it's because a neighbour made it happen.
Getting involved doesn't mean committing your weekends indefinitely. It means letting us know you're willing to help, and we'll match you with something that fits your time and interests.

Ways to get involved
Join the board
Board members attend monthly meetings, vote on community decisions, and help set the direction of the association. No experience required.
Help with events
From the spring cleanup to Canada Day, community events need hands. Show up for a few hours and help make something happen for your neighbours.
Safety & FireSmart
Help neighbours prepare for emergencies, assist with FireSmart assessments, or join the Joint Emergency Management team.
Communications
Help keep residents informed. Writing, photography, social media, or web updates. If you have skills in this area, we can use them.

Join JEM
Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency developed Joint Emergency Management teams as a way for citizens to assist with planning and preparing for emergencies from within local communities.
